Playskool crayons purchased at Dollar Tree have been found to contain asbestos. If ingested or inhaled, users could be at risk for an asbestos-related illness such as mesothelioma.

EXPO dry erase markers with scented ink

These markers, which were purchased on Amazon, were found to contain benzene, a chemical that has been linked to liver, kidney, and immune system damage.

The Board Dudes six magnetic dry erase markers

Like the EXPO markers, Board Dudes magnetic dry erase markers were also found to contain traces of chemicals known to cause liver, kidney, and immune system damage.

Jot 1-inch 3-ring binder in blue

This binder, sold at Dollar Tree, tested positive for traces of phthalates, a group of chemicals used to soften plastics.

Phthalates can cause problems for children, including issues with development, asthma and childhood obesity.

Be Vigilant

Other products from these brands may also contain dangerous materials. Be cautious of the supplies you purchase your children this school year.
